Doran Oatman, LCSW-S, Bereavement Consultant

Doran Oatman has been in the grief and loss field for almost 15 years. Her journey began as a therapist in a grief center in Adelaide, Australia. Doran has utilized her grief skills working with foster children, leading bereavement camps for a hospice and working as a bereavement coordinator for a hospice for a number of years. Doran is currently own a private psychotherapy practice specializing in grief and trauma.

While working in hospice, Doran created a new thee-day bereavement group facilitator training, trained volunteers to make bereavement calls and to facilitate bereavement groups, supervised graduate level and masters level interns to provide bereavement counseling and counseled hundreds of individuals/families. The bereavement program quickly became the largest of its kind for hospice programs in central Texas as far as numbers served.

Doran has completed leadership and management training and understands the different roles and expectations for those in the bereavement department of a hospice.
